Prince Edward Island: Victim Services

Victim Services staff are professionals with backgrounds in social work and criminal justice. Where a victim is incapacitated or has died as a result of the crime, family members may benefit from available services. Assistance is available to those who feel they have been victimized regardless of whether a complaint has been made to the police or a charge has been laid.  The website includes a fact page on Criminal Injuries Compensation.

Prince George BC & District Elizabeth Fry Society

We work to support women – legal, practical and emotional support. We provide a range of services and assistance, including counseling, information, support and referrals to victims of childhood assault, criminal harassment, partner violence and sexual assault. Our help line and email are 24/7.

RCMP – Nunavut

At this time, Nunavut has no government-based, court-based or police-based victim services.  There are approximately 100 community-based services across Nunavut that offer traditional and more typical social services.  Through the Office of the Public Prosecutor.  The RCMP are committed to reducing the harmful effects of victimization and re-victimization.

This service is provided through community volunteers who have been trained by and working under the direction of the RCMP.
