VJN and Algonquin College Research Partnership: Phase 2 (2020-21)

The Victim Justice Network is introducing Phase two of their partnership with Professor Benjamin Roebuck of the Victimology Department of Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. Phase two of the research project is titled Victim Service Providers and Vicarious Resilience. This research project was granted funding by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) in Spring of 2020.

Over the next three years, this mixed methods research project will shift focus onto victim service providers and how they identify various patterns and systemic barriers. While evaluating a wide range of different sectors of victim services across Canada, this research will explore service provider wellness and their overall vicarious resilience. The results of this research will produce tool kits for service providers on self-care and healthy organizational practices through various forms of supports.

As this research project continues to progress, frequent updates will be available on the Victim Justice Network website. More information on data collection will be available soon.
