People are encouraged to wear the color teal to indicate their support for people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and to promote public awareness of the disorder. PTSD is a very misunderstood disorder that many people do not have adequate information of or experiences with which forces many individuals who suffer from PTSD to go undiagnosed.
